Product Description

weBoost / Wilson Pro IoT 5-Band Direct Connect Cell Signal Booster is a Direct-Connect cell signal amplifier that boosts all carrier frequencies including Bands 5, 12, 4, 13, 25/2.

Made by Wilson Electronics, it is ideal for custom-designed IoT communication systems building within tightly constrained spaces. IoT 5-Band cell signal amplifier's power and compact design makes it a trustworthy "Direct-Connect" solution.

Compatible with all U.S. carrier networks and equipped with an impressive uplink power of up to 25 dBm and up to 15 dB max gain, the IoT 5-Band connects directly with cellular modems to ensure strong, reliable connectivity in weak signal environments. In the event of a power failure, the passive RF bypass failover feature allows the cellular modem to keep going to help guarantee successful IoT data transfer.

IoT 5-Band’s compact form factor is ideal for custom designed IoT communication systems built within tightly constrained spaces. FCC certified, the IoT Five Bands allows OEMs to source a compact, powerful, and highly compatible cell signal amplifier that comes ready to deploy. In locations where cellular connectivity is adversely affected by distance to cell towers, terrain obstructions, or building materials (like concrete and steel), the IoT five band is a proven go-to solution.

In addition to the basic kit, the IoT 5-Band is also offered in two more custom configurations as included in the 3 options listed below:

The basic kit (Wilson Pro 460119); ideal for ATMs, vending machines, or movie rental kiosks with access to AC power outlets.

The hardwire kit (Wilson Pro 460219) with DC power supplied by a vehicle to amplify cell signal for an LTE-modem hotspot.

The security kit (Wilson Pro 461119 / 460319) with MMCX cables to interface with cellular based home or business security systems.

5G Ready – WilsonPro cellular amplifiers will work for the next decade and beyond.

For Internet of Things and Machine to Machine devices used inside cellular connected applications. Features Passive RF bypass failover. If the signal amplifier loses power, main amplifier unit is bypassed so that external antenna maintains connection to the modem.

It is a direct-connect signal booster meaning the cable from amplifier directly connects to the cellular modem, tracking, monitoring and other cellular data device containing a SIM card to ensure signal reliability and increase data speeds in poor signal environments. Therefore, it cannot be used for smartphones today that practically never have a direct antenna port connection. If you need to improve signal on a smartphone, you need a wireless phone signal booster.

The SIM card in a cellular device such as cellular modem or mobile hotspot device like Mi-Fi (not a mobile hotspot created in a smart phone because that won't have an antenna port to connect cable that comes with this M2M direct connection kit) requires consistent wireless connectivity to operate the M2M or IoT machine properly by utilizing paid wireless subscription service. This kit helps provide that consistent connectivity.

Applications include vending machines, Bank Automated Teller Machines (ATM), and any application that uses mobile connectiviy to transfer wireless data, usually without human intervention.

Only one cellular device can be connected for signal booster because this is a direct connection signal booster kit but that application can be limitless. For example, that mobile device can be a cellular modem, data card, lotto machine, remote monitoring system within an alarm system, wireless remote monitored signage, fleet monitoring system, mobile hotspot device such as Mi-Fi, Jetpack, etc.

This USA version works for all cellular service providers in USA such as AT&T Wireless, Verizon Wireless, T-Mobile, and Sprint. Boost signal reception inside Machine to Machines and Internet of Things with stronger connection with respective network's cell tower. Strong connection means fewer disconnects and redialling, less loss of data due to lack of realtime wireless connectivity, and fewer Internet hang-ups or freezing / buffering.

Enjoy fast 3G and 4G mobile internet downloads and uploads in your M2Ms and IoTs after installing this M2M and IoT cellular signal amplifier kit. It is easy to install. It installs easily using DIY installation instructions included. It is self-regulating, plug and play, automatically adjusts antenna signal gain as needed, and requires no maintenance after it is installed. This is a new version replacement model of the discontinued models containing the term, "Signal 4G and Security 4G" in their names (replaced with, "Wilson Pro IoT 5 Band"). Refer to updated WilsonPro IoT 5-Band data sheet.

How Pro IoT 5-Band booster works.

How Pro IoT 2-Band booster works

  1. Using an outside antenna, the amplifier (booster) system detects and collects the existing cell signal from outdoors.
  2. Signal amplifier receives this signal through an outside antenna cable; boosting it to produce the best possible cell signal.
  3. Using inside antennas, cell amplifier broadcasts the boosted signal indoors for use by anyone with a cellular device.

Please note that there must be some signal strength for exterior antenna to boost. Cut off point is -105 dB which is practically a dead zone. If there's no signal to amplify, even a direct-connect signal booster like this one will not help keep cellular modem connected consistently to mobile network. A Distributed Antenna System (DAS) or Small Cell Technology signal enhancing system will be required in those instances when there's no cellular service outside where external antenna can be installed.

Questions & Answers

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Ask a Question
  • I am with an engineering firm that builds IoT devices that connect to the cellular network. I want to set up a signal booster that a number of these devices can connect to. IoT devices connect to LTE Cell networks through a new type of modem and protocol called CATM1. My understanding is that existing LTE networks supported this new standard through updates to software on the network and base stations. So is it correct that a signal booster for LTE networks is strictly capturing and re-transmitting the exact same signal, and that there is no difference to the booster whether its amplifying a standard LTE Voice or Data call, or a CATM IoT device transmission?

Yes, that is correct. It is the same signal that is from the cell tower. The cell booster is going to repeat the same signal, but just amplified.

  • We have installed a new boom gate operator that is connected with a cellular intercom system (CIS). The CIS uses an AT&T sim card for voice and text communication. It can operate on G3 or G4. It is currently using G3 and will not switch over to G4 when commanded. It is supposed to use an APN of VOLTE/4G. We are assuming it can't switch because the signal is too low. The G3 signal is only medium at best. On a signal strength scale from 1 to 31 it is usually 16-18. It is outside at the front entrance to our property. What do we need to use to get a better signal?

What you need is a Machine to Machine (M2M) signal booster [also known as Internet of Things (IoT) signal booster]. Either you can purchase this referenced 3G + 4G + LTE M2M signal booster (any of the three options should be fine - 1st option is basic and requires a 110V power outlet, 2nd option allows a hardwired 12V DC connectivity to a battery source, and the 3rd option offers a more powerful exterior antenna). Or you can request M2M signal booster installation service for us to provide quote, and available schedule to come out and install it for you. Fyi, instructions are included with purchase of the kit recommended and anyone, especially an IT or mechanical technician can easily follow instructions to install it for boosting reception to built-in cellular modem of the device.

  • Do you have a M2M booster that would help band 66?

Sorry, Band 66 is not covered by powered M2M signal boosters because that is not allowed by FCC. However, a passive exterior antenna that covers Band 66 frequency such a Yagi antenna, or Parabolic antenna should capture Band 66 signals from outside and feed it to your cellular modem/router inside, to get it to broadcast Band 66 service to your M2M device.

  • I need a mast-mounted outdoor preamplifier for an LTE roof antenna installation. It is a parabolic antenna for LTE 4G Internet, 1700-2100gHz service. I need to amplify the signal at the antenna for better signal to noise and not really for distribution of cell signal over a given space. Would you please guide me as to which of your products would work in this scenario? Thank you for your help and time.

Yes, a direct connect M2M signal booster will help amplify signal at point of your antenna. You would simply connect your parabolic antenna to it instead of the small magnet mount antenna included with this machine to machine signal booster.

  • Will this booster help my cellphone?

It will, only if your cell phone is directly connected to it via cable which is highly unlikely these days because most phones do not have an external antenna port.

If you need one in this price range, consider:

    1. In-building 3G signal booster (will boost 3G signal to multiple cell devices inside home or office).
    2. Vehicle 3G & 4G signal booster (will bost 3G and 4G/LTE signal to signal cell device placed in included phone cradle).

Or you can find the kind you need by using our cell phone booster selection tool which asks simple questions to show you the most suitable kit for your needs.

Warning

Note: For any signal booster to help, outside signal strength must be at least -110 dB or there must be a clear line of sight to a cell tower that is within twenty miles. Before ordering, please check outside signal level in decibels or ensure that you can make and hold a phone call at any good spot outside where you can mount an exterior antenna. Square footage stated in signal booster listings is based on good signal outside. If it is any weaker, the boosted sq. ft. area will be considerably lower, accordingly.

Kevin K. of Anderson, California gave the following review:

Website is easy to use with plain straight forward info but could have had more on testing signal strength to make sure you get a strong enough booster.

Therefore, please note that stated sq. ft. coverage is based on good signal outside. For best results: If outside signal is weak, we suggest choosing the next higher sq. ft. coverage kit. If outside signal is very weak, we suggest choosing the kit with even more higher sq. ft. range bracket. Basically, higher the sq. ft. bracket, the more powerful the signal amplifier with greater Gain as well as higher uplink and downlink output power.

If outside signal is too weak (weaker than -110 dB), submit request for cell coverage solution assessment. Upon receipt of questionnaire, we will perform residential or business site survey. This will help us determine the system that is needed to improve cell coverage. Then, we will create system design using that system such as femtocell, active or hybrid distributed antenna system (DAS), or other carrier feed signal enhancing method available that will work at your signal-challenged location. Finally, we will schedule for installation after equipment and installation service quote has been approved by you, or your company.

For non installation-included kits: Most home / office / building cell signal booster kits only include bracket to mount exterior antenna on outside wall, edge of roof, or existing pipe up to 2 inches in diameter. Mounting pole not included with most kits, unless stated specifically that it is included for free. Therefore, a mounting post must be purchased separately if you will require it to mount exterior antenna.
