Product Description

Full band Yagi Directional Antenna SureCall SC-231W operates on 75 Ohm systems. This wide spectrum directional cell antenna is also more accurately called a log-periodic dipole array or LPDA antenna because it covers a wider frequency spectrum than traditional Yagi antennae. We include all mounting hardware with this antenna such as U-bolt that goes around your mounting pole, antenna bracket that goes onto the U-Bolt, and flat washer, split washer, and nut. Mounting pole not included with this purchase, and must be purchased separately if needed.

Sure-Call SC231W provides antenna reception Gain of 10 dBi on 698 MHz to 960 MHz frequency and 11 dBi on 1710 MHz to 2700 MHz frequency. Gain can increase or decrease depending on the cellular amplifier system used. The Sure Call SC231-W purchase includes mounting kit as well - U-bolts come with the Yagi antenna, and will fit any 1.25 inch to 2 inch diameter pole (not included). The Yagi is a directional antenna that is designed to be used in areas of weak cellular signal.

It is aimed directly at a cellular tower to provide the maximum connectivity. This SureCall antenna covers 2G, 3G, 4G LTE and WLAN systems, for full data coverage and access. It is weather resistant. It is easy to install. Once up and running, the Yagi gives you faster data speed, and improved cellular signal. It has Type F-Female connector to connect to 75 Ohm cables.

Wide band directional Yagi antenna is arguably one of the best antennas in terms of performance out there. With an impedance of 75 Ohm, this antenna is a high gain type, best for outdoors. Point it towards the cellular tower that is not only unobstructed but also the nearest. Do point it to the cell tower that belongs to the Carrier whose signals need to be boosted. This 3G and 4G antenna is created with the ability to cover diverse systems for the LTE, AWS, PCS and Cellular such as WLAN, 4G, 3G and 2G. Alternate part numbers: Cellphone-Mate CM-231W/ CM231W. UPC: 857593005567.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Ask a Question
  • Can the Yagi antenna be painted to make it less noticeable for a roof-mount application in a picky HOA neighborhood?

Yes, you can certainly paint antenna any color like black or green and install hidden behind leaves of the branches of tree that may exist in your front or back yard to make it appear more discreet or not as noticeable. However, please make sure that the pain does not contain metallic flakes as some paints do for the shining effect. Read more details here.

  • My brother bought a Surecall booster for our cabin in 2019. I think it was the $299 model. He bought the Omni directional outdoor antenna; however, we think the directional is what we need since we don't have a strong signal. The cabin is over 700 miles away so I can't look at what the model number is. I am thinking we need the SC-231W antenna with 75 ohm. Does that sound right to you? Also, will this antenna work with 5G when it is available or will we need to buy a different antenna? Thanks.

Yes, this referenced antenna will work with the kit you apparently have - simply switch Omni antenna you have with this Yagi. No cables need replacing. The system will work with same cable you must already have, that came with Omni antenna. Regarding your question about 5G, there's a 5G version of this antenna available that also covers 5G bands - specifically T-Mobile's 5G Sub-6 frequency. However, your booster is not capable of enhancing that like other commercial grade 5G boosters so 5G antenna would not benefit you in any meaningful way at this time. Please know that your current booster will be good for many other 5G transmissions that do, and will continue to be sent through 4G network as explained at this link: https://www.signalbooster.com/pages/what-is-dynamic-spectrum-sharing-dss

  • Does this come with mounting hardware, such as u bolts that can go around my antenna pole?

Yes, it does. For more details, please read end of the first paragraph in product description. Thank you.

  • I ordered the Yagi antenna and received it to use along with my SureCall Flare cell booster since it is for our ranch in a very rural area. My son has looked it over and does not think the mounting bracket it comes with will be able to attach to the house and point towards town (the cell tower) like we need it to. He thinks we need another bracket that allows it to rotate and point in the right direction. He found many to choose from on internet and one in particular for around $25 that is a universal antenna mount that has a 90 degree adjustable tilt with a 5 inch x 7 inch wide mounting flange. But I wanted to see what you all had to offer and to make sure we get one that will work with this Yagi antenna. Do you have a mount that has an adjustable tilt for the Yagi antenna?

Yes, you can choose antenna mount from the list here:

    https://www.signalbooster.com/collections/j-pipe-mounts-for-mounting-exterior-antenna

Antenna can be rotated and set to any 360 degrees position.

At another link below, there's even a telescoping 6 ft. to 25 ft. pole you can use to raise antenna very high for best clearance and reception when pointed to nearest cell tower to provide direct line of sight signal.

    https://www.signalbooster.com/collections/antenna-mounting-poles

    Thank you.

  • The female connector on my Surecall Yagi Antenna (SC-231W) is damaged. I'm having a difficult time trying to identify a replacement connector. Is that something you can help me with?

Unfortunately, we do not have the replacement F-Female connector for the Sc-231w. Purchasing a new antenna seems to be the solution because that connector is crimped on to the cable terminal from the factory and requires specific tool to crimp it on.

  • What is the range of the outdoor antenna?

The SC-231W is an outdoor yagi antenna that can pick up signals up to 30 miles away. The yagi antenna has to be pointed towards the direction of the nearest cell tower for your provider.

Warning

Note: For any signal booster to help, outside signal strength must be at least -110 dB or there must be a clear line of sight to a cell tower that is within twenty miles. Before ordering, please check outside signal level in decibels or ensure that you can make and hold a phone call at any good spot outside where you can mount an exterior antenna. Square footage stated in signal booster listings is based on good signal outside. If it is any weaker, the boosted sq. ft. area will be considerably lower, accordingly.

Kevin K. of Anderson, California gave the following review:

Website is easy to use with plain straight forward info but could have had more on testing signal strength to make sure you get a strong enough booster.

Therefore, please note that stated sq. ft. coverage is based on good signal outside. For best results: If outside signal is weak, we suggest choosing the next higher sq. ft. coverage kit. If outside signal is very weak, we suggest choosing the kit with even more higher sq. ft. range bracket. Basically, higher the sq. ft. bracket, the more powerful the signal amplifier with greater Gain as well as higher uplink and downlink output power.

If outside signal is too weak (weaker than -110 dB), submit request for cell coverage solution assessment. Upon receipt of questionnaire, we will perform residential or business site survey. This will help us determine the system that is needed to improve cell coverage. Then, we will create system design using that system such as femtocell, active or hybrid distributed antenna system (DAS), or other carrier feed signal enhancing method available that will work at your signal-challenged location. Finally, we will schedule for installation after equipment and installation service quote has been approved by you, or your company.

For non installation-included kits: Most home / office / building cell signal booster kits only include bracket to mount exterior antenna on outside wall, edge of roof, or existing pipe up to 2 inches in diameter. Mounting pole not included with most kits, unless stated specifically that it is included for free. Therefore, a mounting post must be purchased separately if you will require it to mount exterior antenna.
