Product Description

Channelized Filter to Block Band 5 Channel B (75 Ohm) | WilsonPro 860002 by Wilson Electronics / weBoost.

Wilson Pro Channel Filter Blocks Band 5 Channel B for 75 Ohm Cell Phone Signal Boosters. Wilson 860002 has a type "F" Connector to fit 75 Ohm wireless boosting systems. Please review item image, or table grid below - for exact amount of signal blockage for each frequency range (Maximum blockage for uplink and downlink on Channel B, Band 5). It serves as a filter for cell phone frequency.

Channelized filters are a powerful tool to fine-tune cellular signal booster systems for optimum performance. System installers employ a filter to attenuate incoming non-essential cell signals carried on the specific Band 5, Channel B. This allows essential signals on other channels (for example, Channel A on Band 5 frequency) to be amplified at full strength.

How it works.

Mobile signal booster systems amplify cell signals across full frequency bands. However in some cases, amplifying all signals on band 5 can cause signal overload, a condition in which a specific carrier's signal is too strong.

In accordance with FCC regulations, an overload condition causes the booster system to automatically reduce power or perhaps shut down completely. Using Wilson Electronics 860002 channel filter can correct this overload condition, allowing the system to continue to amplify signals at full strength.

Please note: No cable included with this B5 Channelized Filter Channel B (F Connector). Thank you.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Ask a Question
  • I need to connect 2 antennas together. The cell tower is 24 km from my home. I am using a Wilson Weboost brand cell booster. I want to combine 2 antennas together. I have a 3G-4G directional antenna and a 3g-4g omnidirectional antenna as well. Which combination should I use? A diplexer or a combiner? Thank you so much for your time and your answer.

In order to add an additional external antenna, you would need to use a splitter. Most of weBoost home signal boosters are 75ohm so you would need a 75 ohm 2-way splitter, but if you're using a 50ohm unit it would be 50 ohm 2-way splitter. Check your installation manual and it will mention what impedance your cellular amplifier exterior antenna port has. Most likely it should be 75 Ohm if yours is weBoost and not WilsonPro (both owned by Wilson Electronics). If you're able to let us know which exact brand and model you have, we can find the ohms for you so you know exactly what piece you would need. I would also suggest making sure you're going to be able to mount them at least 5 to 10 feet apart so that they don't interfere with each other.

Warning

Note: For any signal booster to help, outside signal strength must be at least -110 dB or there must be a clear line of sight to a cell tower that is within twenty miles. Before ordering, please check outside signal level in decibels or ensure that you can make and hold a phone call at any good spot outside where you can mount an exterior antenna. Square footage stated in signal booster listings is based on good signal outside. If it is any weaker, the boosted sq. ft. area will be considerably lower, accordingly.

Kevin K. of Anderson, California gave the following review:

Website is easy to use with plain straight forward info but could have had more on testing signal strength to make sure you get a strong enough booster.

Therefore, please note that stated sq. ft. coverage is based on good signal outside. For best results: If outside signal is weak, we suggest choosing the next higher sq. ft. coverage kit. If outside signal is very weak, we suggest choosing the kit with even more higher sq. ft. range bracket. Basically, higher the sq. ft. bracket, the more powerful the signal amplifier with greater Gain as well as higher uplink and downlink output power.

If outside signal is too weak (weaker than -110 dB), submit request for cell coverage solution assessment. Upon receipt of questionnaire, we will perform residential or business site survey. This will help us determine the system that is needed to improve cell coverage. Then, we will create system design using that system such as femtocell, active or hybrid distributed antenna system (DAS), or other carrier feed signal enhancing method available that will work at your signal-challenged location. Finally, we will schedule for installation after equipment and installation service quote has been approved by you, or your company.

For non installation-included kits: Most home / office / building cell signal booster kits only include bracket to mount exterior antenna on outside wall, edge of roof, or existing pipe up to 2 inches in diameter. Mounting pole not included with most kits, unless stated specifically that it is included for free. Therefore, a mounting post must be purchased separately if you will require it to mount exterior antenna.
