Product Description

Tower-IQ Guardian-4 Class B Public Safety Signal Amplifier / BDA.

Previously SureCall, Potter Signal's Tower IQ Guardian-4 Public Safety BDA Signal Booster / Amplifier is NFPA 72 and FirstNet Ready Signal Booster for Industrial Buildings provides Emergency Responder Radio Coverage (ERRC). It amplifies FirstNet signals for crucial communications, delivering consistent signal for First Responders and other public safety officials relying on two-way radio communication inside large buildings. FirstNet Band 14 coverage boosting is included in this public safety (police walkie talkie) booster.

An in-building Emergency Radio Communication Enhancement System (ERCES) usually consists of a Bi-Directional Amplifier (BDA) System. SureCall Guardian 4 is a bi-directional amplifier with a maximum gain of 80 dB on the public safety frequency bands, supporting 700 MHz (FirstNet Ready) and 800 MHz. The NEMA 4 rated amplifier housing contains the built-in SureCall Sentry remote monitoring system, an integrated 7-pin alarm and UPS port for external battery backup. In an emergency, communication saves lives. SureCall's NFPA compliant public safety boosters are built to perform when reliability matters most, boosting emergency communications on the public safety bands.

SureCall Guardian4 is a 1/2 Watt BDA that comes equipped with a dual-band booster with a maximum gain of 80 dB on the Public Safety frequency bands 700 MHz (FirstNet Ready) and 800 MHz. It meets the code for NFPA 1221, IFC 510, and features a NEMA-4 rated amplifier housing. Additionally, it comes equipped with a dry contact 7-pin alarm, UPS port for external battery backup, and Ethernet ports that enable remote monitoring. Model # SC-Responder. UPC: 854328008213. 3 Years Manufacturer Warranty. An extended 5-Year warranty is available for an additional cost.

The main difference between the Guardian QR and this kit, is that the 800 MHz frequency is a bit narrower in this kit so it does not bleed over into the cellular band. This eliminates the co-channel interference concern that some of our customers brought up with the Guardian QR. It comes in the NEMA 4 enclosure and has all of the same NFPA ratings as the Guardian QR.

Unique Features of Public Safety Band Signal Booster:

  • Provides improved coverage for Public Safety 700 MHz (FirstNet) and 800 MHz.
  • Features built-in Sentry for remote monitoring and control.
  • Integrated 7-pin alarm and UPS port for external battery backup.
  • Includes NEMA-4 rated housing.
  • Meets the code for NFPA 1221 and IFC 510.
  • Independently adjustable frequency bands and Automatic Gain Control (AGC).
  • Industry leading 3 years warranty. 5 years extended warranty available.

Or search for, "Cel-Fi QUATRA RED" - This type band 14 signal amplifiers require you to buy each component you need to design your system, separately.

If you're an end user, please request Band 14 BDA system design and installation quote for installation service by professional installers and help with approval process with local authority having jurisdiction (AHJ).

  • How many square feet can this BDA support?

This public safety signal booster is designed to be used indoors and the coverage densification heavily depends upon the strength of signal outside the building where exterior antenna can be placed. Amount of coverage space in square footage also depends upon many other in-building factors including the density of building walls and density of interior dividers/ dividing walls between rooms/ suites/ sections of the building. Just as a rough estimate with a strong signal outside, it can cover up to 80,000 square feet with 12 indoor antennas. Please submit estimate questionnaire and our team will perform a site survey to determine more accurate coverage figures plus cost estimate depending upon the number of kits as well as number of antennas required to meet public safety network coverage requirements in your building.

Warning

Note: For any signal booster to help, outside signal strength must be at least -110 dB or there must be a clear line of sight to a cell tower that is within twenty miles. Before ordering, please check outside signal level in decibels or ensure that you can make and hold a phone call at any good spot outside where you can mount an exterior antenna. Square footage stated in signal booster listings is based on good signal outside. If it is any weaker, the boosted sq. ft. area will be considerably lower, accordingly.

Kevin K. of Anderson, California gave the following review:

Website is easy to use with plain straight forward info but could have had more on testing signal strength to make sure you get a strong enough booster.

Therefore, please note that stated sq. ft. coverage is based on good signal outside. For best results: If outside signal is weak, we suggest choosing the next higher sq. ft. coverage kit. If outside signal is very weak, we suggest choosing the kit with even more higher sq. ft. range bracket. Basically, higher the sq. ft. bracket, the more powerful the signal amplifier with greater Gain as well as higher uplink and downlink output power.

If outside signal is too weak (weaker than -110 dB), submit request for cell coverage solution assessment. Upon receipt of questionnaire, we will perform residential or business site survey. This will help us determine the system that is needed to improve cell coverage. Then, we will create system design using that system such as femtocell, active or hybrid distributed antenna system (DAS), or other carrier feed signal enhancing method available that will work at your signal-challenged location. Finally, we will schedule for installation after equipment and installation service quote has been approved by you, or your company.

For non installation-included kits: Most home / office / building cell signal booster kits only include bracket to mount exterior antenna on outside wall, edge of roof, or existing pipe up to 2 inches in diameter. Mounting pole not included with most kits, unless stated specifically that it is included for free. Therefore, a mounting post must be purchased separately if you will require it to mount exterior antenna.
