Product Description

500 feet Wilson Half inch Plenum Cable | WilsonPro 952003 by Wilson Electronics / weBoost.

Buy 500 ft. half an inch thick Plenum Cable supplied by Wilson Electronics' commercial cell phone signal booster division, WilsonPro. It is an ultra low loss 400 coaxial cable that offers the highest-performing coax cable in the market with low attenuation and high efficiency. ETL certified; CMP (UL 444) rated. Must be professionally installed. It is white in color and fire rated compliant per national NFPA requirements.

What is Plenum cable?

Wilson Pro plenum cable has a special fire-retardant jacket that burns at a higher temperature than typical cable. When burned, the cable does not let off toxic smoke that most cables release when burned. These characteristics make plenum cable the safest option to use in any space. This long five hundred feet plenum coax cable is very durable and high safety cable thanks to its rugged characteristics. Its ruggedness and durability enables it to be used practically anywhere, indoors or outdoors because it meets maximum safety standard possible for plenum cables.

Almost all large buildings utilize the ceiling for returning air to the central AC unit, thereby making it a plenum ceiling. This means all cables running through the ceiling need to be plenum rated cables. Our 500 ft. cables for plenums are rated to meet or exceed industry standard requirements.

What exactly is Plenum? In building construction, the "plenum" is the compartmental space that is used for air circulation in heating and air conditioning systems. It is typically between the structural ceiling and the suspended ceiling or under a raised floor. What is the standard used for manufacturing these type cables? All materials intended for use on wire and cables to be placed in plenum spaces are designed to meet rigorous fire safety test standards in accordance with NFPA 262 and outlined in NFPA 90A.

NFPA 90A is the Standard used for Installation of Air-Conditioning and Ventilating Systems. This cable for plenum spaces meets or exceeds industry standards.

Features:

  • CMP (UL 444) rated.
  • ETL certified.
  • Flexible conductor enables tight bend radius.
  • Low attenuation and high efficiency for wireless applications.
  • For indoor plenum use (dropped ceilings and raised floors).
  • Meets all code requirements for installation in plenum air handling spaces.
  • Wilson's highest-performing coax cable.

For all types of wireless applications. Its flexible conductor enables tight bend radius that works in any install. The Wilson 400's UL tested fire resistant jacket also keeps your space safe from potential hazards.

When is Plenum required and who requires it?

Plenum cable is mandated to be installed in any "air handling" space by the National Electric Code. Knowing when a space requires Plenum Cable is very important. One of the easiest ways to do this is to look into the ceiling. If you see a duct going back to the Air Hauler, then this means you have a Closed Air System. However, if there isn't a duct running back to the Air Hauler, then you have an Open-Air System, and this is a Plenum Space and will require Plenum Cable.

This cable is ½-inch thick yet easy to run in open spaces. It is ideal for long distances thanks to its efficient, low attenuation feature. Thus, it can be safely used throughout a building. This white cable has a fire-resistant low-smoke jacket. It has corrugated aluminum outer conductor, air dielectric interior, and copper-clad aluminum center conductor. It meets ETL/CMP (UL 444) safety requirements. Each plenum cable comes in 500-foot lengths on a wooden spool with unterminated ends. N-male connectors and cable tools are sold separately. This cable is only for use in professional DAS installations.

Important note:

Please note that although image shows a connector, it does not include one because we offer several tools to help you field terminate the cable. This helps because you don't always know exactly how much cable you are going to need until you get to the job site. With these tools you will be able to create custom lengths of cable on the site.

Designed for use with the WilsonPro ½-inch Cable ConnectorWilsonPro 1/2 inch Cable Prep Tool and WilsonPro Half Inch Cable Flare Tool.

Note: For any signal booster to help, outside signal strength must be at least -110 dB or there must be a clear line of sight to a cell tower that is within twenty miles. Before ordering, please check outside signal level in decibels or ensure that you can make and hold a phone call at any good spot outside where you can mount an exterior antenna. Square footage stated in signal booster listings is based on good signal outside. If it is any weaker, the boosted sq. ft. area will be considerably lower, accordingly.

Kevin K. of Anderson, California gave the following review:

Website is easy to use with plain straight forward info but could have had more on testing signal strength to make sure you get a strong enough booster.

Therefore, please note that stated sq. ft. coverage is based on good signal outside. For best results: If outside signal is weak, we suggest choosing the next higher sq. ft. coverage kit. If outside signal is very weak, we suggest choosing the kit with even more higher sq. ft. range bracket. Basically, higher the sq. ft. bracket, the more powerful the signal amplifier with greater Gain as well as higher uplink and downlink output power.

If outside signal is too weak (weaker than -110 dB), submit request for cell coverage solution assessment. Upon receipt of questionnaire, we will perform residential or business site survey. This will help us determine the system that is needed to improve cell coverage. Then, we will create system design using that system such as femtocell, active or hybrid distributed antenna system (DAS), or other carrier feed signal enhancing method available that will work at your signal-challenged location. Finally, we will schedule for installation after equipment and installation service quote has been approved by you, or your company.

For non installation-included kits: Most home / office / building cell signal booster kits only include bracket to mount exterior antenna on outside wall, edge of roof, or existing pipe up to 2 inches in diameter. Mounting pole not included with most kits, unless stated specifically that it is included for free. Therefore, a mounting post must be purchased separately if you will require it to mount exterior antenna.
