Premium quality RF Signal Distribution Tap / Directional Coupler is used with cell phone repeaters and amplifiers to split the signal disproportionally between many indoor antennas. They then control how much power is allocated to each area depending upon the coverage needed.
This is our premium signal booster custom tap # 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 inventory item. Our Signal Tap or Directional Coupler is a signal distributor that distributes signal at specific coupler values of -5 dB, -6 dB, -7 dB, -10 dB, -15 dB, -20 dB depending upon the respective type chosen in the drop-down menu.
All work on 50 Ohm impedance with Type N-Female connectors. They cover frequencies between 698 MHz to 2700 MHz. Available coupling values of -5dB, -6dB, -7dB, -10dB, -15dB, -20dB have UPC #'s 697691016436, 697691010595, 697691016443, 697691010601, 697691010618, 697691010625 respectively.
Signal splitters divide the signal evenly between antenna outputs, but directional couplers only send a predetermined percentage of the main signal to the side port, while the majority of the input signal is passed through to the main output port. These devices are ideal for attaching antennas at several points along a main feeder line and for in-building signal distribution.
The taps are compatible with 50 Ohm cell phone repeaters and boosters including Uniden, Hiboost, SureCall and WilsonPro and weBoost / Wilson Electronics. They feature excellent coupling flatness, high directivity and very low loss over the 698 to 2700 MHz bands.
The couplers can also be used for many other applications for sampling RF power levels and as unequal power dividers. Their wide operating frequency range also make them suitable for use in 900MHz and 2.4GHz WiFi and wireless video systems.

What is a directional coupler and what does it do?
A Directional Coupler is a device typically used in the radio technology field. They are generally constructed of two coupled transmission lines placed so close together that energy moving through one is coupled to the other. The crucial aspect of a Directional Coupler is that only power flowing in one direction is coupled.
Cell phone amplifiers and repeaters employ a Directional Coupler to split signal between a number of indoor antennas, with the coupler controlling the amount of power being allocated to each specific area, depending on the required coverage. With the majority of the signal passing through to the main output port, a Directional Coupler will direct a prearranged proportion of the remaining signal to the side port.
A Directional Coupler is the perfect tool for signal distribution within buildings and for attaching antennas at specific points on a main feeder line. Directional Couplers can also be used as unequal power dividers and for sampling RF power levels.
Directional Couplers by SignalBooster.com are specifically designed for system applications where there is a need for signal mixing, precise monitoring, external levelling, or measurements of swept transmission and reflection. They are comparable to other brand Directional Couplers such as CPL727NF-5, CPL727NF-6, CPL727NF-7, CPL727NF-10, CPL727NF-15, CPL727NF-20 but at a much lower cost due to our manufacturing efficiencies.
Offering simplistic resolutions, Directional Couplers by SignalBooster.com can be used for SATCOM, commercial wireless, EW (electronic warfare), antenna beam-forming, signal measurement and monitoring, and EMC (Electro-Magnetic Compatibility) testing. Their compact size make them an ideal solution in space-restricted applications.
Our Directional Coupler (or Signal Tap) distributes signals at values of -6 dB, -10 dB, -15 dB, and -20 dBs. Cell phone amplifiers and repeaters use these 50 Ohm Signal Taps to not only divide signal between a number of indoor antennas, but also to determine the amount of power distributed to each area. The difference between Signal Splitters and Directional Couplers is that directional couplers release a specific percentage of the main signal to the side port, whilst signal splitters equally divide the signal between each antenna output.
Directional Couplers are compatible with all 50 Ohm signal repeaters and boosters, including SureCall, Uniden, HiBoost, and Wilson weBoost, and feature high directivity, exceptional coupling flatness, and very low loss over the 698 to 2700 MHz bands. Directional Couplers can also be used for sampling RF power levels and as unequal power dividers.
They are typically known according to the amount of dB coupling they provide. For instance, the 20 dB Directional Coupler is also known as a -20 dB Signal Tap, a 20 dB Signal Tap, or even a 20 dB Directional Coupler. Because of their wide operating frequency range, Directional Couplers can also be useful for 2.4 GHz and 900 MHz Wi-Fi and wireless radio systems.
Featuring four 50 Ohm N female connectors, these Directional Couplers range in value from between 6 dB and 20 dB.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERSAsk a Question
How do you recommend mounting these couplers?
If you're going to daisy chain the antennas, then these would be good. If not, you can use regular splitters. Thank you.

Note: For any signal booster to help, outside signal strength must be at least -110 dB or there must be a clear line of sight to a cell tower that is within twenty miles. Please check outside signal level in decibels before ordering. Square footage stated in signal booster listings is based on good signal outside. If it is any weaker, the boosted sq. ft. area will be considerably lower, accordingly.
If it is too weak, submit request for cell coverage solution assessment. Upon receipt of questionnaire, we will perform residential or business site survey. This will help us determine the system that is needed to improve cell coverage. Then, we will create system design using that system such as femtocell, active or hybrid distributed antenna system (DAS), or other carrier feed signal enhancing method available that will work at your signal-challenged location. Finally, we will schedule for installation after equipment and installation service quote has been approved by you, or your company.
Please note: Most home / office / building cell signal booster kits only include bracket to mount exterior antenna on outside wall, edge of roof, or existing pipe up to 2 inches in diameter. Mounting pole not included with most kits, unless stated specifically that it is included for free. Therefore, a mounting post must be purchased separately if you will require it to mount exterior antenna.
