Can you recommend the best cell phone signal booster for me?

The best signal booster varies in different locations and situations. For indoor boosters, we mainly need to know the signal strength outside in decibels and the square footage boosted coverage area you need covered, before we recommend a cell phone booster. This will give us a good idea of which cellular amplifier to recommend. Here are a couple of ways we recommend taking decibel readings:

*Please take readings on all sides of the home outside. If you're limited to an installation requiring the receiving antenna to be inside, please take readings at all possible window areas.

Android:

AT&T / T-MOBILE / SPRINT / VERIZON / BELL / ROGERS / TELUS (MOST MAJOR CARRIERS): There is an app called SignalCheck Lite. Please download this and look at the RSSI reading right underneath the heading labeled 1XRTT, 800, etc. Go outside and test your signal. -50 (next to the cell tower) is a good signal. -105 (boosters systems typically will not work) is a weak signal.

Or for an iPhone (any carrier):

1) Disable the LTE (This step only applies to the iPhone 5 or newer): Settings -> Cellular -> Cellular Data Options -> Disable LTE Your signal will typically range anywhere from -50 to -105.

2) Call *3001#12345#* in the top left hand corner* will be your –db reading.

*If the number is not there, you will want to swipe from the top of the phone to the bottom while in this test mode. You should see the number appear in the top left hand corner.

If the number is not updating, put your phone into airplane mode and take it out of airplane mode and repeat the steps. It may take the number up to 30 seconds to change.

An excellent signal would be -50 (this is the signal you will see when standing near a cell phone tower). A weak signal would be a -105 (this is the signal you will see when calls begin to drop).

Once we have this information, we will be able to suggest the best booster for you.**

**If you do have a decibel reading on the 3G service already, please contact us using the contact form below, and we will help you find out which signal booster is best for you.

Right below, is a general signal booster recommendation tool mainly for vehicle cellular boosters but also for in-building boosters that recommends in general, based on other variables such as square feet coverage required, etc.
