Cell phone boosters are much easier to install in 2021 than when this article was released. They are more “plug and play” and I know there are some where you don’t have to hard wire an antenna. For people who can’t install one or don’t have the time, there are certified installers who can do the job.
I know this is an older article, but there are a number of cell phone boosters that look incredibly easy to set up in your home. What grabs my attention is there are also combination deals where you get a booster with installation included.
I remember when I first heard about cell phone boosters. I had the same question as many people do—how can I boost my cell phone signal at home? I’ve looked into ways on how to boost cell signals at home for free as well as homemade cell phone signal boosters. First, let me say don’t try a homemade cell phone signal booster. You don’t want the FCC hassling you and believe me, I can’t imagine a homemade cell phone signal booster being a good idea. If you are going to get something like a Verizon cell signal booster (and by the way, cell phone boosters are often universal so they’ll work on different brands) you’ll be a lot better than a homemade one because the factory one is built to meet FCC regulations. Cell phone boosters are a good way to strengthen cell phones so you don’t get dropped calls, but people are intimidated sometimes. Let’s face it, we all have friends and family who aren’t technically gifted. And no, I’m not referring to our senior citizens because some of them can run circles around the younger generation when it comes to computers and such.
