Cel-Fi QUATRA 1000 for Verizon Wireless network is an in-building cellular distributed antenna system typically used in large enterprises. This hybrid signal amplifier or small cell signal enhancing system is easy-to-deploy and cost-efficient. It is typically used as a signal solution for buildings up to 200,000 square feet. This cell phone signal booster model only boosts 3G/4G/LTE voice and data on the Verizon network.
This hybrid solution combines the best of Smart Booster and active DAS technologies. It is self-optimizing and self-configuring, while installation and configuration is made simple by the Cel-Fi WAVE Portal.
Cel-Fi WAVE Platform cloud-based remote management platform enables device maintenance and management. Key features of the WAVE platform include:
- Cel-Fi device and asset management.
- Mobile and desktop applications.
- Data modelling and reporting.
- Alerts and alarms can be customized.
- Globally trusted carrier-grade security.
- The WAVE Platform portal can be accessed through its own dashboard, or integrated via APIs.
The QUATRA is scalable and can be used to cover up to 200,000 square feet. It either operates in off-air mode, or it can be integrated with small cell equipment. In the latter case, it operates in distributed small cell mode and creates a Supercell.
Networked Booster Configuration.
This configuration uses capacity from a cell network's existing coverage, extending it to where required. This configuration uses the Network Unit's internal antennas, and is ideal for rural areas where the Network Unit can be located where there is a good donor signal. For urban areas where network interference is often a problem, the Network Unit may be connected to a directional high gain antenna.
Distributed Small Cell Configuration.
A small cell is used as the donor signal for the Cel-Fi QUATRA in the Distributed Small Cell Configuration. This facilitates a uniform signal distribution through a large area. Additional Cel-Fi QUATRA systems may be used to increase coverage up to 200,000 square feet per small cell.
Network Unit (NU).
The hub of the system is the QUATRA Network Unit (NU). Its scalable design can work with between 1 and 4 Coverage Units (CU) to cover up to 50,000 square feet. The NU provides the donor signal to system and supplies power to up to 4 CUs (Coverage Units). It can be managed by the WAVE Platform.
Coverage Unit (CU).
The remote radio head of the system that rebroadcasts the donor signal is called the Coverage Unit (CU). Each CU provides coverage in the QUATRA system, with up to 4 per NU. Each CU is powered from the NU by Power-Over-Ethernet (POE).
Small Cell Interface.
The Small Cell Interface (SCIF) is needed for small cell installation. It simplifies RF connections between NUs and a small cell. It consists of a main unit and the cables needed for a single NU.
Range Extender (QRE).
The Range Extender is a Power over Ethernet (PoE) device that extends the maximum distance between the NU and a CU. It permits cable lengths of up to 650 ft. (200 meters).
Cel-Fi MIMO Panel Antenna.
The MIMO Panel Antenna is a dual-polarization LTE MIMO antenna for pole, ceiling, or wall mount installations, with a gain of between 6.5 and 9 dBi. The MIMO Panel Antenna is used for off-air installation of multiple CUs.
The Cel-Fi MIMO Panel Antenna is integrated with the Cel-Fi WAVE Platform via Cel-Fi's Antenna-Boost. This antenna can connect to any MIMO-enabled CU or NU with quick connect (QMA) cables. This antenna can be rotated in 45-degree steps for best performance with the 8-position dial base. This process is managed with real-time data from the Cel-Fi WAVE Platform Antenna Position Test function.
The coverage area achieved by a signal booster depends on the signal strength outside the building.

This booster supports 2G/3G Voice and Data, as well as 4G LTE. Connector type: QMA Female. Cable type: Ethernet.
Note that this model CelFi QUATRA Hybrid Signal Booster and Active DAS for Verizon Wireless can only boost signal for Verizon Wireless network. If users in the building use multiple networks, you will need multi-carrier booster such as these: Small Space Signal Boosters for up to 4000 sq. ft., Medium Space Signal Boosters for up to 7000 sq. ft., Large Space Signal Boosters for up to 20,000 sq. ft., or Very Large Area Signal Boosters for up to 100,000 sq. ft.
