Product Description

SureCall FlareDB+ 4G LTE Booster for Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile.

SureCall FlareDB+ is an LTE 4G specific signal booster for Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile. It boosts voice, text, data signals of bands 12 & 13 for those carriers. Sure Call Flare DB+ is the lowest cost entry level cell phone signal booster kit for those who don't want to spend a lot of money, and for those who're only interested in boosting their 4G LTE signal.

This sure cell signal booster offers up to 3,500 sq. ft. indoor mobile coverage for consistent connectivity to minimize dropped calls, slow data speed, and bad call quality. This is the best Sure Call cell phone booster deal as long as the frequency signals you need to improve have been included in this kit. How to check that? Read on.

Frequency Band Check:

FlareDB+ is a dual band 700 MHz cellular signal booster that amplifies 4G LTE voice/data for Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile on Bands 12 and 13. Therefore, please confirm which bands your device is using prior to purchase. Process may vary based on your specific iOS version. If the following does not help, check with your phone manufacturer or your Carrier to determine which bands are being used by your service provider.

iPhone:

  1. Dial *3001#12345#* and press Call.
  2. In one of options displayed, you will see "Serving Cell Info" - Click it.
  3. Then "Freq Band Indicator" and check band number.

Android:

  1. Download and install the "LTE Discovery" App.
  2. Click "Signals" and check the band number.

Please note: If your smartphone version is older or incompatible to show which band is being used by your carrier on your phone with techniques shown above, you can also call your service provider directly to confirm.

Basically, this signal booster covers LTE frequencies in 700 MHz range from 698 MHz to 787 MHz. These longer-range frequencies in the Seven-hundred MHz (SMH) range provide cellular coverage in urban, rural and remote areas as part of 4G's Long Term Evolution (LTE) plan.

Which bands cover which frequencies? Cellular (LTE) band numbers corresponding with respective frequencies are listed below. They show band equivalent of frequency or in other words, frequencies equivalent to respective bands.

  • Lower SMH Band 12 Uplink Frequencies: 698 - 716 MHz; Downlink Frequencies: 728 - 746 MHz.
  • Upper SMH Band 13 Uplink Frequencies: 777 - 787 MHz; Downlink Frequencies: 746 – 756 MHz.

If you would like your home cell phone signal booster to cover all Carrier networks, then consider SureCall Flare (with Omni outside antenna) or SureCall Flare 3.0 (with Yagi outside antenna - same as this FlareDB+), at a slightly higher cost. The difference between Flare vs. Flare 3.0? Omni exterior antenna versus Yagi exterior antenna (same as in FlareDB+).

FYI, exterior omni antenna's recommended when signal outside home/office is good - it catches signals from all directions and does not need to be pointed to nearest relevant carrier's cell tower. Outside yagi antenna's recommended when signal outside is weak because when pointed to nearest relevant carrier's cell tower, it can capture signals from much farther away than an omni antenna.

Features of FlareDB+:

The SureCall Flare DB+ cell phone signal amplifier boosts weak signal up to 3,500 sq. ft. in an omnidirectional pattern. This results in fewer dropped calls, improved battery life, higher audio quality, and faster data and streaming. Flare DB+ boosts voice, text and 4G LTE signal for Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile only. Built with the highest quality materials for reliable connectivity when you need it most. Assembled and tested in U.S.A. *5G phone compatible – Flare DB+ boosts voice, text and 4G LTE data on 5G phones/devices.

FlareDB+ Best For:

The Flare DB+ cell phone booster is good for multiple room coverage for those who don't want a complex install. It provides more coverage than the original Flare thanks to its longer range directional outdoor antenna. Indoor coverage area will vary based on available outdoor signal strength: 1-2 bars ~1500 sq. Ft, 3-4 bars ~2500 sq. Ft, 5 bars ~3500 sq. Ft.

Directional versus Omni Antenna.

As stated above, the Flare DB+ cellular booster kit comes with a Yagi directional antenna. It combines the indoor antenna and signal amplifier for a simple setup. The high gain yagi antenna provides up to +9 dB uplink power over an omni antenna and can reach faraway cell towers with ease.

Easy Installation:

One of the easiest 4G signal boosters to install on the market. Simply set up the Yagi outdoor antenna, run it into your home, and place the cellular amplifier (base unit) where you want. Other boosters require you to run cables or drill holes to install the indoor antenna, but not the Flare DB+. It has indoor antenna integrated into signal amplifier. All components for installation are included. Checkout these PDF files that will give you more details regarding what is involved in its installation and device specs.:

Kit Contents.

SureCall Flare kit SC-Poly-DT-Y-Kit includes the following components:

  • SureCall FlareDB+ Amplifier.
  • FlareDB Plus Power Supply.
  • SureCall Yagi Outside Single Direction Antenna.
  • 50 ft. RG-6 Coax. Cable.

Cable length customization.

For most practical purposes, included cable length will suffice for installation. However, in rare situations longer cable may be needed due to very long distance between antenna, and signal amplifier unit. Secondly, in some cases where signal that exterior antenna can capture happens to be very weak to provide enough interior improved coverage space, a customized shorter cable will be best to minimize signal loss. The reason for this is that cables incur signal loss so longer the cable, more the loss of signal incurred. Therefore, see below for optional longer or shorter custom cable purchase suggestion to facilitate installation and/or better performance.

Optional Cables and Accessories Available.

While 50 ft. outside cable (Type RG-6) is included, a different size RG6 cable with F-Male connectors can be purchased separately. Instances when this may be helpful is when shorter or longer cable is needed to run from exterior antenna to booster. Please not that shorter the cable, the lower the signal loss for better performance. For even better performance, select from low loss RG11 cables to upgrade outside antenna cable (must be bought separately). System does not require inside cable because outside antenna directly connects to the 2 in 1 booster and interior antenna built into one broadcast unit.

Although the SureCall Flare Signal Booster Kit includes all the components required to install the system, the following accessories may make the installation easier and help protect the system in the future:

  • J-Bar Pole Mount For Outdoor Antennas: Adjustable 20" J-bar outdoor antenna mounting pole is a universal mounting pipe that allows you to position your exterior antenna higher for optimal reception. The bracket attaches to any flat surface including a roof, fascia, side of house, or deck rail (SC-MOUNT-JBAR).
  • Lightning Surge Protector (75 Ohm) for SC-RG6 and SC-RG11 coaxial cables: In-Line Surge Arrestor With F-Female and F-Male connectors for SC-RG6 and SC-RG11 coaxial cables protects signal booster from damaging electrical surges (SC-LP-75). Or choose aftermarket 75 Ohm surge protector.
  • Grounding kit helps ground the surge protector to disperse lightning surge.
  • Need longer cable run? Get 50 Feet Premium Low-Loss 75 Ohm RG-11 coaxial cable with F-Male connectors (SC-RG11-50).*
  • Need even longer cable run? 100 Feet Premium Low-Loss 75 Ohm RG-11 coaxial cable with F-Male connectors (SC-RG11-100).*

*Upgrading from included RG-6 cables to lower loss RG-11 cables may be helpful because longer the cable, higher the signal loss. For every 100 feet, the signal loss is approx. -4dB on low frequencies and approx. -6dB on high frequencies. Therefore, it is best to use shortest runs possible. If using longer runs, outside signal strength should be good to support the Gain loss. Please contact us if you need assistance regarding your particular situation.

Installation Overview.

Installation of the SureCall-DB Flare Signal Booster Kit and Yagi Antenna is easy with our Flare DB signal booster quick install guide. However, you will need to run cable from exterior Yagi or Log Periodic antenna, into the building and possibly drill the screwable components. If you're capable of doing this level of installation, that is fantastic. Otherwise, you may want to hire us for installation or even any electrician, general contractor, handyman or satellite TV installer may be able to do the job.

Before you start, you might want to do a soft installation, where none of the components are permanently mounted. This ensures that the system performs at maximum capacity to cover all areas you need to cover. Once you're happy with the results, proceed with full permanent installation. Do read the full installation instructions in the manual provided before you start.

Easy to follow installation instructions are included. However, if you realize you need help with installation, a professional installation of this kit is available for your residential or commercial business address anywhere within USA 50 states. Please contact SignalBooster.com with your order number after purchase of this kit for your home, or office / retail store building for instructions to pay and schedule installation at the cost of $299.99 by a certified professional installer.

Questions & Answers

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Ask a Question
  • I have identified this home signal booster unit model # SC-FlareDB that I would like to buy. However, I would like to protect the system from lightning strikes that have been occurring in my area quite frequently (can global warming cause this?). Anyway, I just want to know the model number of the lighting surge arrestor to purchase for that system. It looks like I have an N connector on one side of the cabling with this kit and a F style connection on the other side. So I would need a lightning arrester that has one of each connector, I think.

The 75 Ohm lightning surge protector part model number SC-LP-75 is for this SureCall Flare DB signal booster kit. Its male side should be connected to the roof antenna and the female side should be connected to the coaxial cable that goes into home or building.

  • I am looking for a booster for a Jitterbug. I purchased one for a 92 year old but can't get reception in his house. He has a budget about $250. Thank you.

As far as we know, the Jitterbug operates on GreatCall, a MVNO that uses Verizon's network. It supports CDMA, as well as LTE band 13. Since CDMA is phased out practically everywhere, our best guess that it operates only on LTE bands 4 and 13 which are covered by the referenced signal booster above that costs under $200. If you want to be sure so you don't have to return for refund within 60 days, you can buy the lone Flare (not FlareDB+) which covers practically call Carriers and bands but it costs slightly over that stated budget ($250) costing $50 more for a total of $300.

  • Works ok, but yellow light keeps coming on.

The flashing yellow on the frequency band LEDs means that automatic gain control (AGC) is operating. This is a normal part of the booster's operation and should not be a cause for concern.

  • How much power in unit “watts” does it use?

The power consumption for the FlareDB+ is less than 12 watts.

  • How do I register my new signal booster? I bought it online, and it says I have to register it.... How?

First of all, please know that registration of signal booster has nothing to do with functioning of the cell phone signal booster.

The purpose of signal booster registration is so that your Carrier can reach you to alert you if your booster malfunctions.

When you decide you're going to keep it, simply register per your carrier's directions to register it.

The process varies by the service provider. Some have an online form you can fill out with your contact info and booster serial number and some require you to email them such basic info.

We have provided most major carrier cell booster registration links but if yours is not listed, simply call them and ask how to register it. They may even take info over the phone and register your booster for you - just guessing that may be possible if they are ultra helpful by filling out their booster regstration submission form for you, on your behalf.

Please contact us if you need any other help related to your cell phone booster system.

Warning

Note: For any signal booster to help, outside signal strength must be at least -110 dB or there must be a clear line of sight to a cell tower that is within twenty miles. Before ordering, please check outside signal level in decibels or ensure that you can make and hold a phone call at any good spot outside where you can mount an exterior antenna. Square footage stated in signal booster listings is based on good signal outside. If it is any weaker, the boosted sq. ft. area will be considerably lower, accordingly.

Kevin K. of Anderson, California gave the following review:

Website is easy to use with plain straight forward info but could have had more on testing signal strength to make sure you get a strong enough booster.

Therefore, please note that stated sq. ft. coverage is based on good signal outside. For best results: If outside signal is weak, we suggest choosing the next higher sq. ft. coverage kit. If outside signal is very weak, we suggest choosing the kit with even more higher sq. ft. range bracket. Basically, higher the sq. ft. bracket, the more powerful the signal amplifier with greater Gain as well as higher uplink and downlink output power.

If outside signal is too weak (weaker than -110 dB), submit request for cell coverage solution assessment. Upon receipt of questionnaire, we will perform residential or business site survey. This will help us determine the system that is needed to improve cell coverage. Then, we will create system design using that system such as femtocell, active or hybrid distributed antenna system (DAS), or other carrier feed signal enhancing method available that will work at your signal-challenged location. Finally, we will schedule for installation after equipment and installation service quote has been approved by you, or your company.

For non installation-included kits: Most home / office / building cell signal booster kits only include bracket to mount exterior antenna on outside wall, edge of roof, or existing pipe up to 2 inches in diameter. Mounting pole not included with most kits, unless stated specifically that it is included for free. Therefore, a mounting post must be purchased separately if you will require it to mount exterior antenna.
