Product Description

Drive OTR Truck cell signal antenna's adjustable from 7.5 inches to 40 inches. It is notable for its customizable installation options and separate mast extensions. It is capable of extending its height from 7.5" up to 40" for optimal range. It easily fits semi-trucks, fleet vehicles, pickups, and overlanders.

It is designed for use with a vehicle cell phone signal booster or specifically a truck cell phone signal booster because the cable that comes attached to it connects to the cellular amplifier unit. If you don't have a cell phone booster and only have mobile modem you want to connect it to for better cell reception, please make sure modem has SMA-Male connector so it fits the cable that comes with this antenna (cable has SMA-female connector but SMA-male and SMB-plug adapters also included), or you will need to buy a connector that makes its cable's SMA-female connector to fit your cellular modem or router.

It is a versatile, high-gain, omnidirectional antenna with included SMB connector that makes it compatible with both weBoost Drive X and weBoost Drive Reach in-vehicle boosters. This proprietary antenna stands out, not only due to improved aesthetics but also because it meets the toughest off-roading and outdoor standards. It also comes with an improved low-loss antenna cable to optimize performance on the road.

The Drive Reach OTR truck antenna's all-weather, all-terrain construction meets current U.S. Military 810H and NEMA IP66 standards. This is Wilson Electronics' most durable antenna yet. It is resistant to high wind gusts, low tree branches, rain, dust, dirt, and more. Additionally, improved low-loss antenna cable optimizes performance on the road (OTR) for all USA & Canada carrier networks and devices.

Features:

  • Height adjusts from 7.5 inches up to 40 inches.
  • Rated for off-road and outdoor use.
  • Designed for use with Drive Reach and Drive X.
  • Ideal for semis, fleet, overlanders.
  • Covers 700, 800, 1700, 1900, 2200 MHz cellular networks.
  • All modes, voice and data.
  • High gain signal output.
  • Antenna can be configured into multiple lengths from 7.5 to 40 inches.
  • Off-road rated to MIL-STD 810H for shock and vibration.
  • Works with standard CB antenna mounts, includes 3-way mirror rail mount.
  • Connects to mobile cellular boosters.
  • IP66 rated for outdoor use.
  • Assembled in USA.
  • 2 year warranty.

Benefits:

  • 13 inches and/or 18 inches mast extensions can be added for increased height (in addition to antenna's 7.5" inch height).
  • 3-way antenna mount to easily fit on semi-trucks.
  • Spring base to resist high winds and tree branches.
  • Durable construction repels rain, snow, and heat.

What is in the box?

It comes with 13 inch and 18 inch mast extensions. It includes 3-way antenna mount, SMB-to-SMA Male adapter, spring base, and threadlocker. It also comes with 16 ft. low loss antenna cable featuring SMA Male to SMB connector. Here's exact list of contents:

  • Drive OTR Antenna with 13 inches mast and 18 inches mast extensions.
  • 3-way antenna mount.
  • Threadlocker.
  • Spring base.
  • Side Exit Adapter.
  • 16-ft. low-loss antenna cable (LMR195).

How it works in conjunction with signal booster kit.

  1. Outside antenna pulls in cell signal from the closest tower (this purchase).
  2. Booster (not included with this purchase) amplifies the signal received by outside antenna.
  3. Inside antenna (not included with this purchase) distributes this new signal throughout vehicle.

Difference between the previous model weBoost 304415 and this new SKU 311229.

Why does the new OTR antenna cost more than the old one, and what are the main differences between the discontinued part number 304415 and the new 311229? For starters, improvements in the new one are extensive regarding durability and weatherization features of the new trucker antenna 311229 (and SKU 311230 for RV). The new antennas (models 311229 and 311230) meet MIL-Spec for durability and are IPX7 rated. The new ones also have new improved design with all black masts, and improved cable that has lower loss than the older model version 304415 did. The new ones also have new mast lengths and main mast attached to the boost - Basically, these new antenna versions can be configured in more ways than the old version to get the right height for optimal performance.

Warning

Note: For any signal booster to help, outside signal strength must be at least -110 dB or there must be a clear line of sight to a cell tower that is within twenty miles. Before ordering, please check outside signal level in decibels or ensure that you can make and hold a phone call at any good spot outside where you can mount an exterior antenna. Square footage stated in signal booster listings is based on good signal outside. If it is any weaker, the boosted sq. ft. area will be considerably lower, accordingly.

Kevin K. of Anderson, California gave the following review:

Website is easy to use with plain straight forward info but could have had more on testing signal strength to make sure you get a strong enough booster.

Therefore, please note that stated sq. ft. coverage is based on good signal outside. For best results: If outside signal is weak, we suggest choosing the next higher sq. ft. coverage kit. If outside signal is very weak, we suggest choosing the kit with even more higher sq. ft. range bracket. Basically, higher the sq. ft. bracket, the more powerful the signal amplifier with greater Gain as well as higher uplink and downlink output power.

If outside signal is too weak (weaker than -110 dB), submit request for cell coverage solution assessment. Upon receipt of questionnaire, we will perform residential or business site survey. This will help us determine the system that is needed to improve cell coverage. Then, we will create system design using that system such as femtocell, active or hybrid distributed antenna system (DAS), or other carrier feed signal enhancing method available that will work at your signal-challenged location. Finally, we will schedule for installation after equipment and installation service quote has been approved by you, or your company.

For non installation-included kits: Most home / office / building cell signal booster kits only include bracket to mount exterior antenna on outside wall, edge of roof, or existing pipe up to 2 inches in diameter. Mounting pole not included with most kits, unless stated specifically that it is included for free. Therefore, a mounting post must be purchased separately if you will require it to mount exterior antenna.
