Questions & Answers

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Ask a Question
  • Will this connect directly to the Verizon wireless LTE internet and home phone box?

Sorry, it will not. This is designed to be connected to an indoor cell phone signal amplifier to strengthen cellular signals indoors. It is not for use to boost home cordless phone signals nor broadband Wi-Fi signals. I would only recommend choosing a home cellular signal booster kit if you wish to improve cell phone signal for all cellular devices indoors.

  • Does this boast outside signal. Say for your yard

This is an exterior antenna which is typically cabled to connect to an amplifier indoors and then to an interior antenna (multi-directional dome antenna or uni-directional panel antenna) for improvement of cell signal reception indoors. It is not intended for the purpose you wish to use it for - improvement of cellular signal in your front or back yard. Technically, it could improve reception if you were to connect it to an amplifier and then connect it to an interior antenna placed in an area of need in your yard. However, please note that it would be against FCC regulations because it could be harmful or damaging if outside elements such as rain water got into the interior antenna and/or amplifier which are not water proof as the exterior antenna. Therefore, you would be using it in the manner you wish to use at your own risk because manufacturers warranty will not cover water damage to equipment that is made for indoor use.

  • Can you pick up free Wi-Fi

Our SC288w does cover the WiFi frequency if its 2.4Ghz. We use that antenna on our system that extends the WiFi. SureCall 288w is only a pass-thru antenna and will need to be used for a boosting device such as the Fusion 7 or any router with an AP. However, the antenna cannot pick up the 5 GHz band. It is only limited up to 2700 MHz.

  • Will this antenna boost signals for sdr receivers?

Yes, this and all other LTE multi-band antennas we carry are designed for worldwide LTE and 4G cell reception, and can be used for other purposes in the supported frequency range of Frequency: 698-960 / 1710-2170 / 2500-2700 MHz.

For others that do not know, SDR Receivers are able to only receive radio signals. SDR Transceivers are able to both transmit and receive radio signals. SDR stands for Software Defined Radio in which RF communication is done using software or firmware, in order to carry out signal processing tasks which are normally processed by hardware. This hardware can include mixers, filters, amplifiers, modulators, demodulators, etc. Thus, SDR only uses an ADC and DAC to do Analog to Digital and Digital to Analog signal conversion along with antennas, without needing many hardware components. Consequently, this makes SDR much flexible and makes it easy to fix issues if a problem arises since most of the processing is done on the software rather than on the hardware. The software can be run either on a personal computer or an embedded system.

  • So if you are living out in the country, and you do not have wifi. would this product be able to boost your Cellular Connection if attached to this indoor amplifier. Also would it automatically boost signal or would you have to connect to it like a Wi-Fi network?

Our signal boosters do not require W-Fi to work. They use existing signals outside to amplify and distribute them inside.

Warning

Note: For any signal booster to help, outside signal strength must be at least -110 dB or there must be a clear line of sight to a cell tower that is within twenty miles. Before ordering, please check outside signal level in decibels or ensure that you can make and hold a phone call at any good spot outside where you can mount an exterior antenna. Square footage stated in signal booster listings is based on good signal outside. If it is any weaker, the boosted sq. ft. area will be considerably lower, accordingly.

Kevin K. of Anderson, California gave the following review:

Website is easy to use with plain straight forward info but could have had more on testing signal strength to make sure you get a strong enough booster.

Therefore, please note that stated sq. ft. coverage is based on good signal outside. For best results: If outside signal is weak, we suggest choosing the next higher sq. ft. coverage kit. If outside signal is very weak, we suggest choosing the kit with even more higher sq. ft. range bracket. Basically, higher the sq. ft. bracket, the more powerful the signal amplifier with greater Gain as well as higher uplink and downlink output power.

If outside signal is too weak (weaker than -110 dB), submit request for cell coverage solution assessment. Upon receipt of questionnaire, we will perform residential or business site survey. This will help us determine the system that is needed to improve cell coverage. Then, we will create system design using that system such as femtocell, active or hybrid distributed antenna system (DAS), or other carrier feed signal enhancing method available that will work at your signal-challenged location. Finally, we will schedule for installation after equipment and installation service quote has been approved by you, or your company.

For non installation-included kits: Most home / office / building cell signal booster kits only include bracket to mount exterior antenna on outside wall, edge of roof, or existing pipe up to 2 inches in diameter. Mounting pole not included with most kits, unless stated specifically that it is included for free. Therefore, a mounting post must be purchased separately if you will require it to mount exterior antenna.
