- The Cel-Fi QUATRA 4000 signal boosting system is currently the only signal boosting system to support AT&T's Band 41.
- A separate power supply is not required for the Coverage Units because coverage is provided through Power-over-Ethernet. There's no need for administrator intervention because gain control in the Network Unit always ensures top coverage and maximum gain in changing RF environments.
Components of the Cel-Fi QUATRA 4000 Signal Booster.
While optional accessories are always available, the standard Cel-Fi QUATRA 4000 kit comes with one NU (Network Unit) and six CUs (Coverage Units).
QUATRA 4000 Network Unit (NU).
The Network Unit of the Cel-Fi QUATRA 4000 is the signal boosting system's hub. It works with up to 6 Coverage Units to deliver coverage of up to 75,000 ft². Signal from the donor antenna is received by the Network Unit, delivering power to up to 6 Coverage Units. Remote Monitoring allows for the system to be administered by the WAVE Cloud Platform. The Network Unit weighs approximately 8 pounds and comes in an attractive metal case. There is one Network Unit in each standard kit.
QUATRA 4000 Coverage Unit (CU).
The remote radio head of the system, the Coverage Unit of the Cel-Fi QUATRA 4000 is responsible for rebroadcasting the signal of the donor. Each CU provides boosting system coverage, and each Coverage Unit is driven from the Network Unit's Power-over-Ethernet. There are six CUs in a standard kit.
QUATRA Range Extender (QRE).
An optional accessory, the Range Extender's purpose is to extend the largest distance between the Network Unit and the Coverage Unit by enabling CU-to-NU cable lengths of up to 650 feet (200 meters). With the Quatra Range Extender, no PoE injector or separate power supply is required because this is a Power-over-Ethernet device.

My CU lights are all solid green, but my system is not relaying?
All of the CU lights will turn solid green once the CU starts relaying one channel, give the system some time to start relaying the additional channels.
Can I extend the NU to CU cables more than 100 meters?
Yes. The standard Cat5e cable length maximum is 100 meters, or 200 meters if a QUATRA Range Extender is used halfway along the cable length. 150 meters (300 meters with a QRE) is possible with thicker 22/23 gauge CAT6/7 Ethernet cables.
How many antennas can I use with a QUATRA 4000 CU?
It all depends on the type of application, we recommend up to four antennas depending on cable losses.
Can the QUATRA 4000 LTE modem and LAN Port be connected at the same time?
Yes, the LAN connection has priority over the modem, however the modem may serve as a backup.
What is the SFP+ module dock on the NU used for?
This port will be used for future fiber expansion.
What is the USB on the back of the QUATRA 4000 used for?
The USB on the back of the QUATRA 4000 NU is for COMPASS Connection. The USB on the back of the QUATRA 4000 CU is for Nextivity use only.
Can you combine both donor antenna feeds?

How does the QUATRA 4000 work?
Cel-Fi QUATRA 4000 is a powerful cellular signal distribution solution. Cel-Fi QUATRA 4000 is fundamentally comprised of a Network Unit (NU) and up to six (6) Coverage Units (per NU).
The Network Unit takes the donor input from up to four (4) carrier signal sources. The signal source can be off-air [over-the-air (OTA)] from the macro network, or delivered via a small cell. Each port is carrier specific and can be either off-air or small cell driven.
The NU receives the source signal, digitizes the RF, and distributes it over two Category (Cat5e) cables (per CU) to the CU. The CU converts the digital signal back to RF, boosts it, and transmits from its RF port to provide cellular coverage at the location.
Can I use the QUATRA 4000 system outdoors?
Cel-Fi QUATRA 4000 is for indoor use only and it should not be used outdoors.
What is the difference between the QUATRA 4000 and the QUATRA 4000i?
There are two variants available for the Cel-Fi QUATRA 4000:
Cel-Fi QUATRA 4000: The QUATRA 4000 is FCC Part 20 certified. It supports bands 2,4,5,12,13, 25.
Cel-Fi QUATRA 4000i: The QUATRA 4000i is FCC Part 90 certified. It supports bands 2,4,5,12,13, 25, 26, 30, 41, and 71.

Note: For any signal booster to help, outside signal strength must be at least -110 dB or there must be a clear line of sight to a cell tower that is within twenty miles. Before ordering, please check outside signal level in decibels or ensure that you can make and hold a phone call at any good spot outside where you can mount an exterior antenna. Square footage stated in signal booster listings is based on good signal outside. If it is any weaker, the boosted sq. ft. area will be considerably lower, accordingly.

Website is easy to use with plain straight forward info but could have had more on testing signal strength to make sure you get a strong enough booster.
Therefore, please note that stated sq. ft. coverage is based on good signal outside. For best results: If outside signal is weak, we suggest choosing the next higher sq. ft. coverage kit. If outside signal is very weak, we suggest choosing the kit with even more higher sq. ft. range bracket. Basically, higher the sq. ft. bracket, the more powerful the signal amplifier with greater Gain as well as higher uplink and downlink output power.
If outside signal is too weak (weaker than -110 dB), submit request for cell coverage solution assessment. Upon receipt of questionnaire, we will perform residential or business site survey. This will help us determine the system that is needed to improve cell coverage. Then, we will create system design using that system such as femtocell, active or hybrid distributed antenna system (DAS), or other carrier feed signal enhancing method available that will work at your signal-challenged location. Finally, we will schedule for installation after equipment and installation service quote has been approved by you, or your company.
Please note: Most home / office / building cell signal booster kits only include bracket to mount exterior antenna on outside wall, edge of roof, or existing pipe up to 2 inches in diameter. Mounting pole not included with most kits, unless stated specifically that it is included for free. Therefore, a mounting post must be purchased separately if you will require it to mount exterior antenna.
