Parts in building signal booster kits examples.

These standard kits include 30 ft. cables for connecting exterior antenna to signal amplifier as well as 30 ft. cable for connecting signal amplifier to interior antenna. If you need longer or shorter interior and/or exterior cable for installation in your specific property, buy any length cable up to 100 ft. with same connectors to fit antenna & Cel-Fi GO cell amplifier. Please note: Longer the cable, the more signal loss it will incur, which, in most cases, this up to 100dB Gain booster can easily compensate as long as outside signal strength power is strong enough. Signal loss can be 1dB to 6dB depending on the length of cable and frequency waves being transmitted. Exact amount of signal loss shown at preceding cable listing page listing link. Longer interior cable will not affect performance as much as longer exterior cable would, because exterior cable length is more critical because that is what brings source signal into the signal amplifier to boost with up to 100 dB Gain.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Ask a Question
  • I just ordered recently Cel-Fi GO X kit with directional antenna and I was wondering if I upgraded from that to which one to buy and kind of how much extra I would be looking to gain? Great customer service and excellent product guys. Keep up the good work.

Thanks, if you wish to upgrade exterior antenna, we would recommend switching out with ultra-directional long-range RF Boost Antenna offering up to 26dB Gain versus stock Cel-Fi directional antenna you have which offers only up to 11dB Gain.

  • Is Cel-Fi GO-X 5G ready?

Yes, Cel-Fi GO (or GO X and GO M which also have same main signal amplifier unit) is 5G ready when uploaded with current software. All our new units come uploaded with current software.

  • I need this for improving C-Spire network but it is not an option in app for boosting CSpire cellular service.

C-Spire is not a major Carrier so it will not be an option in the Cel-Fi WAVE app.

Therefore, you must check with your service provider if it is not listed in options and ask them the major Carrier company name whose network they use. Then choose that company from options in Cel-Fi app to set Carrier network you want to boost.

We believe C-Spire uses Verizon and Sprint depending on your area. Therefore, try choosing Verizon or Sprint in the free Cel-Fi WAVE app, to see which one boosts cell coverage inside your home, office, or vehicle. There are only 4 major Carriers (Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, and Sprint) so you can easily choose one by one consecutively and set it to the one that actually improves your inside coverage.

Please note that signal bars are seldom accurate and usually they do not update in realtime. Therefore, check signal strength after turning on the power to the cell booster kit by putting your phone in field test mode or make and receive calls to know for sure whether there has been improvement.

  • I have installed Cel-Fi GO-X and it seems to be working fine except I cannot make calls. I have an iPhone and the connection is good, even data goes through fine, but I am not able to call. My friend had an Android and it works perfectly for making calls too! Do you know what configuration is required on iPhone to make it work?

This is a very open ended problem. In order for us to comment further we would need more details. What is the serial number of the Go-X? Was the problem with the iPhone always present before the Go-X was installed (never worked at all or had worked atleast once to make a call)? If you power off the Go-X and reboot the iPhone, does the problem still present? What is the LED color in the Go-X amplifier - blinking or solid? Does the iPhone provide any error messages? Can you access Go-X using Bluetooth with the mobile wave app (see app store for this)? Do you by chance have any other installations of Go-Xs? If yes, are those locations having problems or not? If you would please email us responses to these questions and show pictures of the settings of the device such as band and boosting values, etc. that would be great for troubleshooting. Thank you.

  • Can you suggest the lightning surge protection I need for my 100 foot cable, and how I connect it?

Our 50 Ohm lightning surge protector can be purchased separately and it will come with patch cable with N-Male connector that will be needed to connect it between exterior anntenna, and the cable that you use to connect it to the booster unit.

  • My question is do you need equal lengths of cable? if yes, then why is that?. I got the below kit and located service a 100 foot above our cabin on my cell phone up a tree. I need 100 foot of cable to hook into the Cel-Fi Go inside our cabin and then according to your info I need a 100 foot cable inside our cabin also to have equal lengths for each antenna. Why is that? The cable will be in a roll because I don’t need that length, because I am already in the cabin. Can I just hook in the panel antenna to Cel-Fi Go and not use the 100 foot cable?

Equal length of cables for interior and exterior antennas are not required. They come that way in the kit with equal lengths because most set-ups require roughly same size length cable for exterior and interior antennas to reach the booster unit. If you can get by with a shorter LMR400 cable (50 Ohm) with N-Male to SMA-Male connectors, or no cable whatsoever for interior antenna (you will need N-Male to SMA-Male connector), that is even better because doing so would reduce signal loss as well, no matter by how little.

  • I have a cel fi go m and am interested in getting a different antenna for it. My signal seems ok but data can be really slow sometimes. I am wondering about getting a directional antenna to try and work off a less busy tower??

Assuming you're using this when vehicle is both parked or moving, it is best to use omni directional RV antenna that you probably have, so system can automatically search in all directions for cell tower sending strongest signal. If you need only when parked like in an RV on a campsite for best signal, then you may consider a Cel-Fi directional antenna for Cel-Fi GO main unit to catch signals from farther away because you will need to re-adjust it to point to nearest cell tower (preferably using a signal meter) each time you park, for the duration of period you're parked.

  • Can you take off the outside Yagi in bundle so I have panel antenna only? I will be using Long Range antenna. Or will the Long Range antenna not work with Cel-Fi?

Yes, you can order this Cel-Fi GO kit from preceding link (vehicle antennas included at no cost) and separately buy in-building interior antenna plus outside building Long Range exterior antenna separately in addition to two exact cable lengths needed (one for each antenna). They are compatible because both Long Range Antenna, and Cel-Fi Amplifier have 50 Ohm impedance. Thank you.

  • I want a cell signal booster for my RV but not for when I am moving. I think I read that you can get a higher gain unit for stationary use like in a home. Is there any reason I should not get a more powerful unit in my RV if I am only using it once set up in a campground? Thanks.

This reference signal booster Cel-Fi Go PLUS offers use in both stationary and motion modes. It works great for both purposes: Provides up to 65dB Gain when set to in-motion mode, and up to 100dB Gain when set to parked mode. The mode can be switched easily in seconds using its free phone app. If you're not going to use the moving mode, you can keep the setting as parking mode permanently and switch on the system only when parked. Only drawback with this system is that it can boost only one carrier signals at a time. You can easily switch carrier in seconds using its app but you cannot boost signals of more than one carrier at the same time. If you need to boost signals of all carriers simultaneously, we recommend this stationary RV cell signal booster that offers up to 65dB Gain (it cannot be used at all when in motion so it must be switched off when you leave the campground). However, the kit at preceding link is much more powerful than few other RV cell signal boosters that can be used both when in motion or parked because they offer only up to 50dB Gain.

  • I ordered the Cel-Fi Go marine kit from you for my sailboat. Looking for some info / help. I was planning mounting external antenna on the top of the mast (approximately 50 feet). Is this the best option? I can mount the booster either at the cabin top where the mast enters the cabin or closer to my electronics / electrical panel where I was planning on mounting internal antenna. Is it better to keep the cable going from the external antenna to the booster shorter or the cable from the booster to the internal antenna shorter? Is it better to have a better cable for either of these runs for less line loss? If so, what do you recommend?

While it is recommended and is obvious to keep both exterior and interior antenna cable lengths as short as possible for least signal loss, it is most critical that exterior antenna cable length be as short as possible (more so, than interior antenna cable length).

The reason is that the booster needs as much signal as possible to exponentially boost it whereas after the signal is boosted to the max, the system can usually afford signal loss that occurs afterwards along interior antenna cable length (or even daisy chained multiple interior antenna lengths if 50 Ohm interior antenna expansion kits are used to add more interior antennas to this kit).

Yes, you can replace cables included with the kit to reduce signal loss further (but not necessary in most cases) by purchasing separately the lower-loss but thicker and more rigid LMR400 cables if you can install them despite their thickness and rigidness.

  • I have a new 2021 Chevy Pickup. I want to buy the 65dB booster for it. I'm curious, how does it connect to AT&T phones in the vehicle and can multiple phones connect simultaneously? If I receive satisfactory answers, I'll be placing an order with 24 hours.

When you set it to AT&T network, it will greatly improve cellular reception to all AT&T service subscribed phones, tablets, mobile hotspot devices simultaneously in the pickup truck. Exterior antenna catches ATT cell signal from faraway mobile towers. Then it sends that signal via coaxial cable inside the vehicle to the signal booster unit. The cellular amplifier in that unit amplifies the signal and broadcasts it wirelessly to all devices containing active AT&T SIM cards providing them stronger signal connectivity to neareast AT&T cell tower.

  • Looking for a system to use in Canada on Telus. I was thinking of something like the Cel-fi go x because my house doesn't work well for signal. Out side have a few bars but minimal in the house. Was thinking the go x with 4 dome antenna. One in each corner of the second story. Other idea was the the Celfi pro. Unless you have another idea. I like the idea of the 100 DB. But also looking for good quality equipment at a reasonable price. But has to work! Have a Telus wireless hub and phones. Can you leave the domes out in the cold, but not in the weather? Like underneath the roofing material. Steel roof! Any help would be appreciated.

Cel-Fi PRO may not work for you since you say signal inside is very weak because it requires good signal atleast in one spot inside the house (usually found by a window).

Cel-Fi GO with 4 dome antennas kit is a better bet because exterior directional antenna should catch enough signal from outside (you say signal is already good outside) and send to amplifier inside for broadcasting indoor via interior dome antennas.

Exterior installed directional Yagi antenna will be okay outside despite elements. Interior dome antenna(s) are for interior use only - they are not for installation outside the house/building.

We will send you Canadian version since you're located in Canada. You can then choose the Carrier of choice (Telus Mobility) via Cel-Fi WAVE smartphone app. You can also change it to a different Carrier that way, if you change Carriers in future to, for example, Rogers Wireless or Bell Mobility.

  • Cel-Fi Go X Indoor Dome Antenna Question: We have a vaulted ceiling in the room that I was going to try to install indoor antenna in. Can the dome antenna be at a slight angle when installed, or do I need to mount it so it is parallel to the floor? Thank you.

It is only recommended that it face down to the floor so that the radius of coverage is even over conical area below but you can certainly install it at an angle. Simply know that the coverage will then be slightly more towards the direction it faces. Such placement usually does not affect indoor coverage too much.

  • I am looking for an option to boost signal for a Expedite Sprinter Van OTR for both voice and data. I need a steady voice signal to make/receive calls all over the continental US. I need a continuous data signal for sending and receiving emails, attachments and pictures. What would be the best option for voice as well as data (sending/receiving)? Look forward to your advice on best option available that I can implement for OTR Expedite Sprinter Van connectivity.

The Cel-Fi GO kit will offer the best connectivity with its industry leading +65dB Gain for moving vehicles. No other kit in the market can offer that kind of a boost. Only limitation is that it will boost a single Carrier that your cell system uses. If you have a passenger with phone from a different Carrier, it will not help boost their other Carrier's signals. However, you can switch to any Carrier using the Cel-Fi WAVE app installed on your Smartphone. Interior antennas are same for all vehicular applications, and practically any type exterior antenna will get the job done (magnet mount, screw-in permanent mount, trucker).

  • After a lot of reading, I think I would like to buy the Cel-Fi Go M but have questions about cable lengths. Are there functional limitations to each cable length? For our installation I am thinking of 25 ft. between the outside antenna & the booster. For inside antenna the standard 4 meters would work. What would additional length do to the system's function? Would it be better to have the longer cable on the other antenna (inside antenna)? Are there different interior antennas that would increase the area served by the booster?

No limitations functionally related to cable lengths you can buy - but shorter the better, for less signal loss.

Better to have longer interior antenna cable length than exterior donor antenna cable length because the source signal is very crucial for booster to amplify. You need to feed it the maximum you possibly can, for areas with extremely weak signal strength. Once source signal is boosted by up to 65 dB while in motion mode, or up to 100 dB while stationary mode, more likely there would be enough to offset longer cable lengths for inside server antenna.

If you plan to use booster while RV is stationary only, you can use more powerful exterior and interior antennas such as Cel-Fi directional Yagi exterior donor antenna which is way more powerful than Cel-Fi omni trucker donor antenna (but Yagi needs to be re-adjusted to point to nearest cell tower preferably using a signal meter - each time you park and plan to stay for extended period), or Cel-Fi directional Panel interior server antenna which is way more powerful providing much larger coverage area unidirectionally (suggested placement would be a wall facing the rest of RV) than the slim patch server antenna.

  • Can I connect both a omni truck antenna AND a Yagi antenna to a Cel-Fi Go+? I'm wanting the convenience of Omni but have the Yagi available if my RV is in a location where the Yagi is necessary.

Regarding GO Plus, we recommend using only one exterior antenna at a time. You can use your omnidirectional antenna when you're driving but be sure to set unit for "Mobile" mode. When you have reached at your campsite/destination or if you plan to stay in one area for long duration, set the unit to "Stationary" mode so you can connect your directional Yagi antenna. As you know, you will, however, need to aim it to find the best signal. Antenna Positioning feature within the WAVE app would be a good tool to use in order to find the best antenna position. We won't recommend using Omni and Yagi simultaneously because this system has not been tested using dual exterior antennas so we do not know how the smart booster within will react to it.

  • I'm looking at purchasing your Cel-Fi Go+ product for my houseboat, but I would like to extend the server antenna coverage to cover a few boats. Can I purchase a 3 Way Splitter (Wide Full Band 50 Ohm Part SC-WS-3 By SureCall) to add a couple more dome antennas? And if so, what is the max cable length for each run?

Your request can possibly work, but it depends on amount of area you're trying to cover along with the strength of incoming signal.

Cable lengths are typically around 30 to 50 feet. Please contact us as we can provide kits and design systems for your application.

Note: For any signal booster to help, outside signal strength must be at least -110 dB or there must be a clear line of sight to a cell tower that is within twenty miles. Before ordering, please check outside signal level in decibels or ensure that you can make and hold a phone call at any good spot outside where you can mount an exterior antenna. Square footage stated in signal booster listings is based on good signal outside. If it is any weaker, the boosted sq. ft. area will be considerably lower, accordingly.

Kevin K. of Anderson, California gave the following review:

Website is easy to use with plain straight forward info but could have had more on testing signal strength to make sure you get a strong enough booster.

Therefore, please note that stated sq. ft. coverage is based on good signal outside. For best results: If outside signal is weak, we suggest choosing the next higher sq. ft. coverage kit. If outside signal is very weak, we suggest choosing the kit with even more higher sq. ft. range bracket. Basically, higher the sq. ft. bracket, the more powerful the signal amplifier with greater Gain as well as higher uplink and downlink output power.

If outside signal is too weak (weaker than -110 dB), submit request for cell coverage solution assessment. Upon receipt of questionnaire, we will perform residential or business site survey. This will help us determine the system that is needed to improve cell coverage. Then, we will create system design using that system such as femtocell, active or hybrid distributed antenna system (DAS), or other carrier feed signal enhancing method available that will work at your signal-challenged location. Finally, we will schedule for installation after equipment and installation service quote has been approved by you, or your company.

For non installation-included kits: Most home / office / building cell signal booster kits only include bracket to mount exterior antenna on outside wall, edge of roof, or existing pipe up to 2 inches in diameter. Mounting pole not included with most kits, unless stated specifically that it is included for free. Therefore, a mounting post must be purchased separately if you will require it to mount exterior antenna.
